Transal Shipping started operating vessels on 28 January 2005 during which time it was chartering vessels to transport cargo for one of the Altinbas Holdings' companies, Alpet. The fleet has since increased by adding oil/chemical tankers in 2010 and 2011 to the 5 existing oil tankers. As of 2020, 2 oil/chemical tankers are under management.
